Friends are part of our lives. Many are acquaintances, some are close friends and there are a few special ones. We appreciate those whom we call on as faithful. Friends who are loyal are the friends we can depend on at all times when in need.
When we experience the hurt that comes from friends whom we thought were true yet are unfaithful, and some of them can be from your family, it puts you into shock mode category.
It is reassuring to know there is only one true friend who is faithful. He is faithful always and faithful in everything. He is always right there waiting for you. You got fired from your job, you are crying your eyes out. Your husband left you or your wife, you are screaming for your special friend to listen but they are not around. You lost everything you invested in. You finally got the courage to drive home. There is your dog wagging her tail, looking up at you with those big brown eyes and smelling like a dog, licking you all over but you still need more comfort. Then you see the bible verse Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments”.
Because of his very nature, he could not be God and be unfaithful. You then realize He will not leave you or disown you. He never changes. He never fails. He never goes back on his promises. He cannot act out of character with Himself. Because He is faithful He will be faithful in His actions.
When trials and testing come, it may seem as if He has surely forgotten us. When friends fail us and our lives are falling apart, we may feel He has forsaken us. There seems to be so few people we can trust. Many people do not keep their word. Our faith in people becomes shaken, and we wonder if anyone is honest.
Yet there is One, the faithful God, on whom we can depend. He will never let us down. He has promised you His love.
